Today, Chronic Haze brings you 5 more video games to play while high!

A good video game can take all your troubles away. What used to be considered an activity just for “nerds” is now a whole section of entertainment in its own right, right up there with films and books. And certain video games can be really immersive, making you feel like you’re part of the game’s world. Sounds like the perfect situation for some of the green stuff, right?

If you’re a cannabis user but you haven’t found a game that fits your personality, consider these suggestions. These five video games will be perfect to play right after you’ve smoked one.

No Man’s Sky

Available On: PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4

The sky isn’t even the limit with this one. In case you didn’t already know, No Man’s Sky is an open-world survival game that allows you to travel to 18 quintillion other planets to build your base, engage in combat, and a variety of other activities.

The game received mixed reviews upon its launch, but has since received a slew of updates that have made the game substantially better. The many colourful worlds and sheer scope of the universe you explore make this game a top contender for games to play when you’re high. You’re sure to run into some alien life while you’re exploring the game’s sprawling environments. Maybe roll some Sour Alien before?

The Stanley Parable

Available On: Microsoft Windows

Here’s a trippy one. It’s a story-based adventure game where you play as Stanley, a silent protagonist who works a normal job in an office building. The game’s world has diverging pathways, and a narrator will direct you as you progress. You have to follow his directions to make it to the end. Or do you?

The Stanley Parable is rife with mystery and existential horror. It received rave reviews across the board for its themes and execution. It’s the perfect game if you’re one of those stoners that like thinking about mind-boggling stuff. This one’s pretty cerebral. Smoke some Acapulco Gold before you jump in.

Valheim

Available On: Microsoft Windows, Xbox One (upcoming)

Are you a fan of Minecraft? Well, how about Minecraft with Vikings? I personally had a lot of fun playing this one with friends. The game can get a little challenging sometimes, but a challenge is always good for the brain.

The great thing about Valheim is the broadness of its appeal. Some moments are calm and serene, like when you’re at base with your squad. Sometimes you feel like a mighty adventurer, like when you’re sailing the high seas. Sometimes you’re on the edge of your seat, like when that first troll shows up. Those guys will knock you out faster than a hit of Dank Schrader.

Stardew Valley

Available On: Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

If the previous entry sounded a little too hectic for your liking, then Stardew Valley might be the game for you. An open-ended farm simulator with RPG elements, this game will have you addicted in no time. Some have called it one of the greatest video games of all time.

If you’re looking for a chill way to spend an evening, Stardew Valley has you covered. Forget about your troubles, smoke a bowl, and just live the farmer life. That and the occasional battle against an enemy. After some Bluefin Tuna Kush, you’ll be on your way to relaxation in no time.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Available On: Nintendo Switch

Probably my favourite entry on this list. This is how I spent my lockdown. The gameplay was smooth, the overworld was beautiful, and a sense of danger lurked around every turn. Needless to say, I was hooked.

If you haven’t played a 3D Zelda, roll one up and boot up this game immediately. Nothing brings you that sense of adventure quite like Zelda does. And this one is probably the best in the series. With so much to do and such a vast world to explore, playing this while high will make you feel like you’re in the game. Might as well play this one too, before the sequel comes out.
