Are you an environmentalist? Are you constantly trying to learn how to be an eco-friendly stoner?

With the looming climate crisis, adopting environmentally-friendly practices is more important now than ever. From your diet to your transportation to the types of goods you buy, there are plenty of ways to reduce your ecological footprint and consequently your environmental damage. And things are no different when it comes to your cannabis use. In short, there are greener ways to smoke your green.

But what exactly can you do to be more environmentally conscious? Fortunately for you, Chronic Haze is bringing you some tips on how to be a more eco-friendly stoner. If you’ve been looking for ways to do your part and take care of the planet, read on!

Don’t Litter!

Probably the most important piece of advice to take to heart, littering is bad. Period. And that includes waste associated with smokeables.

Smokers tend to get a bad rap when it comes to littering, due to their tendency to toss their butts wherever they may be. Cannabis users are often unfairly lumped in with these folks, but many users do nothing to help their case. It’s abundantly common to see someone toss their finished roach on the ground. Truth be told, we’ve all been guilty of it at some point.

When you’re finished smoking a joint, get in the habit of putting out the roach and taking it to a nearby trash can. This is an incredibly easy way to reduce your environmental impact as a cannabis user. And please, for the love of god, don’t be one of those cannabis users that just tosses their products’ packaging in the forest post-sesh. No one needs to know you were there, bro.

Compost

Hey, did you forget? Cannabis and tobacco are biological matter! That means any associated waste products are easily composted!

Whether it’s stems, ABV, or just bud that’s expired or gone bad, toss that stuff in the compost bin. And that goes for tobacco too, if you’re rolling a blunt. If you’re the type of person that uses their compost for their own gardening, you could potentially even grow more weed from the weed you threw out!

Additionally, cannabis’ being biological matter means it can easily be infused into your food. Homemade edibles are a great way to get your fix without leaving behind waste products such as smoke, ash, filters, and packaging. Cannabis cuisine is becoming a huge staple of the culture, meaning there are plenty of sources for you to learn how to make healthy, delicious, and effective edibles of your own (we’ve even got some ideas right here).

Reduce, Re-Use, Conserve

Another piece of advice that’ll serve you well in the long run: aim for zero-waste consumption methods if you can. While joints can be convenient, they don’t have to be the only way you get high. Try bongs and pipes, as they’re reusable and don’t leave behind any garbage. Edibles, even store-bought ones, are also a great idea, as they don’t emit smoke and can easily cover your seshes for the whole day.

You can also simply reduce the amount of products you use at once. Only need half of the blunt? Save the rest for later! Already high but not finished the joint? Roach it! It’s never a good idea to force yourself to overconsume. By the same merit, throwing the rest in the trash would be wasteful. By being more mindful and only using what’s absolutely necessary, you’re doing a huge favour to the your wallet, your body, and the environment.

And make sure to reuse what you can! If you’re using a dry herb vaporizer, save the ABV and make edibles with it. Maybe use your stems and shake to make tea. There are a plethora of different ways to get the most out of what you have on hand. It’s all about getting in the mindset of conserving, and being aware of what you can do to be less harmful to the environment.

The next time I learn a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I do know it was my choice to read, however I truly thought youd have one thing attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you happen to werent too busy looking for attention.
